Karl is growing up in Galt, California, and started playing the violin at five. It is just one of many activities and sports that he has been busy with over these few short years, but Karl liked it almost from the start. His lessons are focused on the classical violin, but his parent's love of folk music led Karl to begin learning fiddle tunes at 6.
After spending a few years playing and learning celtic and bluegrass styles, Karl attended a year long World Music course at Sacramento City College, giving him a feel for eastern european, middle eastern, and asian styles of folk music.
Although he has played publicly in various venues and with various bands over the last few years, this is the first year that he is actively looking to play with other musicians at local music festivals and events.
